(Kitco News) - The gold market ended the U.S. day session modestly higher Thursday. Price action saw technical chart consolidation and a corrective bounce following Wednesday's selling pressure. There was not much market reaction to round two of Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke's speech before the U.S. Senate. August gold was last up $8.50 at $1,286.00 an ounce. Spot gold was last quoted up $12.40 at $1,287.50. September Comex silver last traded up $0.03 at $19.45 an ounce.
